Blue Ocean Industries was founded in 2016 as a small family run CNC machining and engineering business. Thanks to the rapid growth of our customer base over the following two years we doubled in both floor space and in CNC machining capacity and capability. In early 2018 we acquired C & E Machinery Pty Ltd, a Brisbane based engineering business and composite materials distributor which was first established in 1956 and had been operating under the same ownership since 1983. In July 2018 we entered an alliance with Tufcot Engineering Ltd based in Sheffield in the UK as their Key Customer for sales of Tufcot® composite materials in Australia. We continue to support C & E Machining customers with the sale of Bakelite Pro® as well as both woven and moulded brake lining.
Blue Ocean Industries was founded in response to significant changes to the landscape in Australian manufacturing over the last 10 years. We saw there was a need for Australian based businesses to be able to rely on a local supplier that could stand behind the quality and precision of the work that was delivered to them, in a timeframe that allowed them to meet their own obligations of delivery and performance. We continue to work hard to eliminate inefficiencies from our processes as well as building quality into our operations, so we deliver our products right first time, every time while delivering maximum value at minimum cost to our customers. We fully believe that the supply chain is extremely important to our customers success and our focus is to operate as much as possible as an extension of our customers purchasing and restocking systems. We have extensive experience in Lean systems such as Kanban JIT and other Lean pull systems and are always willing to work with our customers to help to reduce overstocking of inventory as well as to eliminate the shortfall of delivery. We firmly believe in putting our customers first and that our success only happens as a result of our customers success.
